Turning climate-related information into added value for traditional MEDiterranean Grape, OLive and Durum wheat food systems

NEWSLETTER nº 5

December 2020

Dear Madame or Sir,

We hope you continue doing well. This time, we send you our fifth newsletter, where you will find new updates on the MED-GOLD project. We would like to bring to your attention our recent General Assembly as well as the organisation of a session on agriculture during the climate services event organised by the European Commission and the Climateurope project.

This second half of the year, an important part of our participation in events has been virtual to adapt to the current circumstances. We look forward to resuming our face-to-face interactions soon.

We take this opportunity to wish you merry Christmas and all the best for the coming year, hoping that 2021 will bring a more positive note to our lives.

In the meantime, enjoy the reading!

Finishing the testing of MED-GOLD climate services tools

During the second half of year 2020, we have continued working on the assessment of the usability and acceptance of the MED-GOLD climate services tools among the olive, grape and durum wheat communities.

We have gathered users’ feedback through online testing of the tools and using surveys. A special focus was put in the demonstration of the Olivia platform, the MED-GOLD Dashboard and Granoduro.net. These climate services tools will be showcased and evaluated with users in further interactions planned for the first half of year 2021.

The MED-GOLD advancements have been recently presented at the session on climate adaptation in agriculture jointly hosted by the MED-GOLD and VISCA projects. The session was part of a full-day event on ‘Climate services for a climate-resilient Europe: Success stories, lessons learnt and remaining challenges’ organised by the European Commission EASME Executive Agency and the Climateurope project.
