CLIMATE SPRINT: ACCELERATING CLIMATE SOLUTIONS

Climate Sprint Event banner

Climate change is leading to greater uncertainty – be it in temperature fluctuations, snowfall or wind speed. This is again causing changes in personal preferences, such as the type of drink we’ll want on a hot day, or when we’ll plan to take this year’s ski trip.

Climate variations do not just affect consumer demand; they also affect supply logistics, such as for products that need to be transported in a chilled environment. Nearly everything we do is impacted by the weather and the climate.

Being able to predict such changes in advance would help companies minimise weather-related risks. The S2S4E project has developed a tool for the energy sector that does just that: The S2S4E Decision Support Tool.

Climate Sprint explored how this tool could be applied to non-energy sectors. Participants at this day-long innovation camp learned how climate services could support them in the decisions they make at work, and how to use the tool to explore the global weather outlook for the weeks and months ahead.
